Penny and Brass on the Train to Hell

Penny and Brass were created for a course, Ahmad Beyrouthi's Character Design for Video Games, a two month long class hosted by Warrior Art Camp! I feel the course really got me thinking and pushing myself, I highly recommend Ahmad as an instructor! I really tried to use this as an opportunity to get a better grasp on iterating and not settling for the first design that pops up. I did enjoy a lot of the earlier designs that came up though, I wonder if I can use aspects of them elsewhere!

They are part of a game project I had been thinking about for the past while, imagining if I ever completed The Attic project, it would be a good sized follow-up! Throughout the course, my excitement and inspiration for the Train project has grown and grown and I am already working on some more design for it, keeping game-play and fun in the forefront of my mind. I have a lot of ideas I want to pin down, and as I draw and brainstorm, and go through the design process, more ideas keep bubbling to the surface! It's an exciting place to be!

Penny and Brass would be the protagonists of the game, I wanted to push to a more stylized/iconic direction than I often find myself settling in. To push for a sweet spot of pushed proportions and shapes.

In this final presentation, I wanted to keep it professional feeling, while still including some of the "fun" aspects of my process, doodles and notes in the margins, etc.

Thanks so much for checking this project out, hope you enjoyed meeting Penny and Brass!!!
